“Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against traffic analysis, a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security.”
1. Create a Transifex Account:
- Haven’t created a Transifex account yet? Create one here.
2. Join the Tor Project and Tor Project Web Translation Team:
3. Download Tor Browser:
- Consider downloading Tor Browser for the platforms you are translating This will allow you to get comfortable with the tool and view the original English strings and translations in context. Tor Browser is available to download on “Android”, “Linux”, “macOS” and “Windows”.
4. Start Translating from the #Translation Priorities and Resources:
- The list of resources and translation priorities will help you decide which content to work on first in the Psiphon project. Some resources are much more important to work on than others because they affect a larger number of Psiphon users. Dedicate your time on the resources that will make the most impact for users first.
Translation Priorities and Resources
The Tor Project project in Transifex contains the resources necessary to localize Tor Browser, Tor Browser for Android and several other Tor-related services like Tails and HTTPS Everywhere.
|To release a localized version of Tor Browser, Mozilla’s Firefox Extended Support Release must first be available.
You can contribute to Mozilla Firefox translations through Mozilla’s localization platform Pontoon.
