Haven't created a Transifex account yet? Create one here.
2. Join the projects you want to translate:
3. Familiarize yourself with the tool you want to translate:
- Install OONI Probe (learn how to here)
- Try using OONI Explorer (learn how to here)
- Try using OONI Run (learn how to here)
4. Review the #Translation Guidelines:
Make sure you are familiar with Localization Lab's Translation Guidelines before you begin translating. They contain important information like whether or not to translate or transliterate the project name.
Language Priorities
These priorities are determined based on the following factors: (a) levels of internet censorship in countries where these languages are spoken, (b) whether that language is spoken in many countries (that experience moderate-high levels of censorship):
- Arabic
- Chinese (Simplified)
- Farsi
- French
- Spanish
- Russian
Translation Guidelines
Please refer to the Localization Lab’s Translation and Review Guidelines.
- Do not translate or transliterate the app name. If it is necessary to transliterate for users in your language, please leave “OONIâ€, "OONI Probe", “OONI Explorerâ€, “OONI Run†in Latin letters followed by the transliterated name in parentheses. Ex: OONI (أوني).
We also encourage you to refer to OONI’s translation guidelines, Glossary and FAQ:
